As last to go in the second round of Saturday's CSI3* Top Series 1.45m presented by Henders & Hazel, Belgium's own Dominique Hendrickx snatched the win on home soil riding the 8-year-old Kannabis van de Bucxtale (Contact van de Heffinck x Concorde).
Saturday's Top Series, counting for the world ranking, went over two rounds with the twelve best from round one moving on to jump against the clock. Carrying on their faults from the first round, nine horse-and-rider combinations came forward on a score of four while USA's Jennifer Gates had a single time penalty on her record followed by Ireland's Peter Moloney and Henrickx on a clean sheet.
The second round under the lights turned into a real race against the clock, with those on four faults putting pressure on the three on top. However, the top three all kept their cool and produced clear rounds starting with Gates and Monaco (Cassini II x Contender) who eventually ended third with her one time penalty from round one. Then followed Peter Moloney on Crumley (Cassus x As Di Villagana) who took the lead with a double clear round in 42.33 seconds, before Hendrickx went all in as last to go to snatch the win in 41.58 seconds.
